|
Crude palm oil (CPO) futures prices on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher today boosted by technical correction, dealers said.
They said the market was basically higher today on active trader for the week due to the coming Hari Raya Aidiladha festival. Chicago Board of Trade,” he said.
Soyaoil and palm oil compete for similar export destinations and their prices often move in tandem.
At the close, January 2008 rose RM10 to RM2,946 per tonne, February 2008 advanced RM10 to RM2,958 per tonne, March 2008 increased RM12 to RM2,962 and April 2008 contracts rose by RM12 to RM2,862 per tonne. Volume surged to 7,615 lots from 5,197 lots yesterday while open interests increased to 42,145 contracts from 4,1920 contracts previously.
On the physical market, December South higher at RM2,908 per tonne yesterday. The market will be closed tomorrow for Hari Raya Aidiladha. It will resume trading on Friday. - Bernama
