CRUDE palm oil futures prices on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower yesterday on profit-taking following yesterday’s strong gains, dealers said.

Yesterday, the futures market closed to its near four month high. However, dealers said general sentiment today was strong on higher export numbers for the first 25 days of September, up by about 13%, compared to the same period last month.

The December futures delivery contract slipped RM20 to RM2,655/MT.

At close, overall volume stood at 8,691 lots, down from yesterday’s 14,667 lots, while open interest fell to 49,674 contracts versus 50,168 contracts previously.
